Know when to wear casual in shorts and tights (some kind of soft rock/punk look) is important but also a matter of taste and of feeling somewhat fashion adventurous. Maybe a lazy walk on sundays, or to having drinks with friends, to work (yeah, maybe not), to dates, to parties, shopping, traveling etc… cutoffs & tights are easily adaptable and can be dressed up & down for the occasion.
Another way to ask this is might have been where not to wear shorts and tights? So once the summer leaves us alone with the cold weather, hold on to your shorts and while you’re at it, throw in a pair of black tights (matte or sheer), boots (heeled or not), high heels (sandals or pumps), blouses, sweaters, jackets, coats, blazers. They match with everything and depending on the look you are going for you can try and play around a lot with layers, colors & accessories.
